Text Messaging Whilst Driving is Madness

In this age of technology pretty much everyone has a mobile phone and it is just that: we take them with us wherever we go. So many people would be utterly lost if they were to have their mobile phone taken from them, even if it was only for an hour. We are all aware of how great a mobile phone can be when it comes to getting out of trouble, like breaking down on the motorway, or calling an ambulance, but we never consider how they can actually endanger our lives. It may come as a shock to you, but more and more people are finding it acceptable to send text messages whilst they are driving. Not surprisingly, a number of people have recently been reported as victims of fatal accidents: the result of texting whilst behind the wheel.

It is actually quite horrifying when you see someone doing this, because it makes you aware of the fact that you have to share the road with people who are quite blatantly demonstrating a complete lack of regard for themselves, as well as every single other person that uses the highways. It has been mooted by the authorities that texting whilst driving is even more dangerous than driving whilst under the influence of drink and/or drugs. An occurance involving a train driver, recently, caused 25 people to die in a collision. This really underpins the danger of texting whilst driving. Texting whilst driving is something that should never be attempted.
