A lady from Wiltshire, got an eyeful of unexpected pain when undergoing a routine laser eye surgery procedure. after experiencing quite the opposite of what she'd been told to expect from the “painless” procedure, which resulted in what can only be described as a kind of absence seizure.
After waiting for her eagerly awaited procedure, optimistic about never again needing to wear glasses. A couple of hours later and wincing in agony, made her way home in the less than advantageous state of being able to see far less than before – with or without glasses.
Subsequently, negligence was admitted by the clinic that treated the patient. A spokesperson cited an incorrect laser setting as the reason behind the anomalous result of the procedure. As a result of such failings, she was subjected to more treatment, as well as a radically protracted period of recovery.
Unhappy at being the victim of such negligence, the lady filed for medical negligence compensation, receiving £6,500 as a result of her ordeal. |
